Is pregnancy oil a waste of money? Review of 6 popular pregnancy oils

It’s already, how come there are still people who think that pregnancy oil is a waste of money? Caution: Pregnancy oil is not a waste of money, but the product you buy may be a waste of money!

After all, today’s merchants have a lot of tricks up their sleeves. A simple bottle of essence oil with no ingredients, plus some packaging and publicity, can directly become an “Internet celebrity” product.

Pregnant mothers must not fall into the trap and follow the trend to buy an “essence oil” that has no effect in preventing or lightening wrinkles.

When I was pregnant, I bought a lot of pregnancy oil products. Some of them had no effect at all, and some even contained ingredients that pregnant women should use with caution!

After careful research, I found that there are some useful pregnancy oils. The stretch marks on my belly have basically faded. Let me share my practical experience.

The root cause of stretch marks is that as the fetus grows, the skin is stretched, leading to collagen loss and fibroblast tearing.

You can take some active measures to prevent stretch marks before pregnancy, such as applying pregnancy oil/cream, exercising more, etc. In the early stage, stretch marks are purple/red stripes, and they will gradually shrink into white lines in the later stage.

Again, it’s better to prevent/lighten stretch marks early than to wait until they have been there for half a year or a year before lightening them. At this point, the difficulty of lightening them can be said to have increased by several levels!

Why do some mothers think that stretch mark oil is useless? There are mainly the following reasons:

1) The active ingredient was not selected correctly!

Our essential goal is to improve skin elasticity and repair fibroblasts, so we must choose ingredients that have the ability to actually moisturize and repair wrinkles. For example: Centella asiatica , pure plant essential oil, VC\VE , squalane … These are all good ingredients for moisturizing and lightening wrinkles. You can check them online for details.

2) Don’t look at the irritant ingredients

The most important thing about products used during pregnancy is safety. You must not be careless when choosing products! Fragrances, alcohol, preservatives, ingredients that pregnant women should use with caution, and other irritating ingredients are not allowed to be used to protect the safety of ourselves and our babies!

I’m reviewing a wave of pregnancy oil products I’ve purchased. Pregnant mothers can choose or avoid them based on their own circumstances. (My personal opinion after use only)

Kangaroo Mama Pregnancy Oil

Can be say to be the pride of domestic products. Kangaroo Mama, which develops products specifically for pregnant women, is an old brand. I bought it after careful research.
This is a pregnancy product on the market with SGS certification for lightening lines. The SGS test report is more important than any advertisement. It is a real test report, don’t try to play tricks!
·Safety
does not contain fragrances, preservatives, alcohol, and does not contain ingredients that pregnant women should use with caution. It has passed the random inspection of Dad’s evaluation.
·Core active ingredients
repair ingredients: VC+VE+squalane, three major repair ingredients, combined together is a “weapon for lightening lines”
Elasticity-increasing ingredients: 8 kinds of plant oils, ascorbic acid, and white pond lily, all of which can increase skin elasticity and moisturize the skin.

·User experience

This pregnancy oil feels great on the skin, and the texture is not greasy and heavy. It absorbs quickly when you massage it. It doesn’t feel sticky, and it doesn’t have any smell. In addition to my abdomen, I also apply it on my buttocks and chest. I apply it to any area that may have stretch marks twice a day, after taking a shower at night and when I wash my face in the morning.
Effect of use
Kangaroo Mom Pregnancy Oil works very well. I have been using it, including now using it as a body care oil. It has contributed a lot to the success of fading stretch marks. It is a pregnancy oil with a very high cost performance!

Fukurai pregnancy oil

A German brand that has been making care oils for many years. It was recommended by a friend.

Security

Contains 1 kind of (daily use) fragrance, and no other irritating ingredients are added.

Core active ingredients

Bisabolol + caprylic triglyceride has a preventive effect and can promote skin metabolism. Wheat germ oil, jojoba oil, and tocopherol acetate have a wrinkle-smoothing and firming effect. Castor seed oil can nourish the skin.

User experience

I really like its texture, it is very clear, not too greasy on the skin, and has a comfortable fragrance.

But this product contains fragrance, so mothers who are prone to allergies should be careful!

Effect

It feels pretty good, the wrinkle-reducing effect is slightly weaker, the moisturizing effect is greater than the wrinkle-reducing effect, overall it is an oil with a good value for money.

Palmer’s Pregnancy Oil

Palmer’s is a brand that mainly uses cocoa butter as its ingredient, and it is said to be very effective in fading stretch marks, so I bought it to try.

Security

Contains 1 fragrance and no other irritating ingredients.

Core active ingredients

Cocoa butter: Rich in polyphenols, it can reduce and eliminate free radicals and has antioxidant function.

User experience

I personally feel that it is more suitable for autumn and winter. It feels a bit heavy in summer. It is difficult to absorb and rubs into mud when applied on the body. The key point is the smell. I don’t like it very much. It feels like cheap cocoa butter. I checked the Internet and found that the evaluation of its smell is very polarized. Pregnant mothers who want to buy it should smell it first to see if they can accept the smell.

Effect

The wrinkle-removing effect is just so-so. I have been using it for almost a month and still feel that it is of no use. This product is more suitable for pregnant women with dry skin.

Bio Oil

Bio Pregnancy oil
Bio Pregnancy oil

Yes, this is the Bio-Oil that is so popular on the Internet. People say it is a “universal oil”. I didn’t understand it at the time but just followed the trend and bought it.

Security

Speaking of the ingredients of this product, it is really a thunderbolt among thunderbolts, 10 kinds of fragrances + 1 risky ingredient + 1 ingredient that pregnant women should use with caution. Let’s not talk about whether the specific ingredients are safe or not, just the fact that there are so many irritating ingredients is already very…

Core active ingredients

Calendula, lavender, chamomile and rosemary complex extracts are all moisturizing ingredients and do not have any wrinkle-reducing ingredients.

User experience

I only dare to try it on my hands. It has a relatively light texture and strong permeability. The fragrance is quite strong, with a rich fruity aroma that is a bit smoky.

Effect

I never dared to use it on my body, but later I gave it to my husband as a body oil, and he thought it had a good moisturizing effect.

 Clarins Pregnancy Oil

The brand Clarins is a household name. It is a luxury brand and the prices are not cheap.

Security

No fragrance, alcohol, preservatives or other irritating ingredients.

Core active ingredients

Rosemary, hazelnut oil, geranium and peppermint leaf oil all moisturize and increase skin elasticity, but do not contain any ingredients that can lighten or repair wrinkles.

User experience

I feel that it has a very moist texture, not greasy, and absorbs quickly. But my friend thinks it is quite oily, and everyone feels differently. It has a light plant fragrance, which I like very much.

Effect

The moisturizing effect is really good, and the wrinkle-lightening effect is also noticeable, but the price is not very attractive, and the cost-effectiveness is not very high.

summary:

1. Kangaroo Mom Pregnancy Oil has a high overall cost-effectiveness in all aspects, and this one is my favorite.

2. Be careful when using Bio Oil, as the ingredients are too complex and it is easy to have allergies!
